OSCE is yet another step on the path of automatization and technologization the University of Basel undertakes. It is an enterprise resource planning system, which is intended to enhance personnel managing efforts and decrease the amount of paperwork associated with it. OSCE contains the life cycle of the University and helps to monitor its state and adjust it with accordance to new circumstances, and as a result, the service increases the adaptability of the establishment.
Development approach:
It was decided to use service-oriented architecture approach because it is self-contained and logically represents a business activity with a specified outcome. The team stuck with Java and JS classics, using Java (Spring), Hibernate, and AngularJS as an optimal set of technologies for this particular project.
