WHAT IS BULKESTATE? Bulkestate is aN innovative player in real estate business in Eastern Europe region. It is a crowd-funding platform for real estate invesment projects. Secondly, its a group buying platform for apartments. In both cases it is automated service which makes the deal happen if there are enough people who want it to happen. In other words – its like kickstarter for real estate.

HOW WE MADE IT? When the client approached us with this project, they expected us to come up with the plan how it would work. We treated this like a startup case, because business model had to be tested in real life and there was no big investor behind the project.

So we stick to "minimal viable product" approach and produced beta version to test the idea. We spent some time analyzing similar services like Kickstarter, Indiegogo, Fundrise etc. and put the lessons learned into clickable wireframes to have a feel of how the site is going to work. After some tweaking of the interface, we took wireframes to the designer and developers to start create the working platform. We tested the site together with the client and when we were confident enough, the page was published.

DID IT WORK? During the first two months, two funding projects were launched and both completed successfully with 212 investors who collected the total of 108 000 € funding. During the beta version we are gathering feedback through web analytics, heatmaps and session recordings to get better understanding of what has to be improved.
