About
AnatomyNext is a web-based augmented reality software for medical education and healthcare professionals. It is a highly technical and interactive tool to facilitate learning for beginning students and to serve as a comprehensive reference for experienced surgeons and other high-profile health care professionals. It aims to help medical persons save time and make the learning process more interactive.
Our challenge was to develop native applications for Macs and PCs. At the time of the request web and mobile apps have already been produced.
The project involves creation of following features: Launcher and 3 individual focused applications: Neuro AN, Skull Anatomy and Head&Neck
Launcher Launcher serves as an entry point for the core applications. It enables user authentication, launch and seamless updating of the applications.
Head&Neck Head&Neck is a simple 3D-viewer for bones and muscles of head and neck area. To facilitate further exploration of the head it allows to hide selected pieces or make them semi-transparent.
Neuro AN Neuro AN application is a complete guide to the anatomy of cranial nerves, one of the most complex and perplexing systems of the human body. 2D-maps have been designed to serve as a tour of the complex pathways of cranial nerves, both central and peripheral. Every map consists of different levels of clickable details revealing thorough illustrated information on corresponding nerves. Some of the maps contain 3D-models.
Skull Anatomy Skull Anatomy application allows to explore the skull in unprecedented detail with the ability to move, rotate, scale, expand, fade and hide the model of the skull. This application has 2 modes: View and Learn. View mode is similar to Head&Neck in the functions it offers (although parts of the model can’t be made transparent). Users can tap on any skull part to select it and get a summary, as well as select multiple skull parts to get a list of them. Learn mode provides more extensive functionalities than the View mode: each bone can be explored with reference information, video tutorials and comprehensible colored models.
