CONTEXT In the country of the End-Client (NDA), by the initiative of the Ministry of Education (MoE) they issued a law about compulsory developing of electronic version of every paper textbook published within the state. To structure and organize e-books’ usage process, they needed a tool. SOLUTION MoE decided to develop an application for Android, iOS and Windows platforms. However, to go even further, mobile app should have additional tools for teaching and studying, not only storing and reading e-books. Deadlines were tight and impossible to postpone no ways due to strict End-Client’s requirements. Lack of resources at General Contractor’s made them contact VironIT. At VironIT they formed dedicated teams for iOS and Android parts of the Project. VironIT dedicated teams were comprised of 2 business analysts, 7 iOS and 5 Android developers, 4 quality assurance engineers, 2 team leads and 1 project manager. The dedicated teams’ engagement model implied the Customer had maximum control over project resources assigned exclusively for their project. VironIT teams had scrutinized requirements, assumed charge of already started parts, and got going with the Project tasks. New functionality was developed according to thoroughly documented specifications provided by the End-Client PM team. RESULTS VironIT worked with both front-office and back-office systems. Automation of the following processes supported: CRM: registering new users of the system; electronic schoolbooks download, storage and e-reader; composing and arranging of tests and rapid-fire questions; issuing and making of homework exercises with later checks of them; translation of lessons on interactive board; schedules of lessons / timetables; teacher’s journal and student’s gradebook; file exchange system; electronic schoolbooks; all kinds of statistics reports generation: academic progress; tests; absence-presence at school, etc.; documents management within the educational institution; users support: push notifications, SMS, services activation, etc.; educational institution in-house databases.
